This Privacy Policy explains how FaceAI collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application. Because FaceAI uses face data, optional location data, and optional cloud AI photo analysis, this policy explains what data is collected, how it is used, who it may be shared with, and how you control it.

Information We Collect

FaceAI collects limited data to provide its core functionality:

• Face Tracking Data: We use Apple ARKit and the TrueDepth camera to track facial movements in real time during guided facial exercises. This data is processed on your device and is not transmitted to any server.
• Face Scan Photos: When you perform a skin scan, FaceAI captures photos of your face using the standard front camera. These photos are stored locally on your device so you can review past scans and track skin wellness progress over time. If you allow cloud AI photo analysis, a scan photo may also be sent to the third-party AI services described below.
• Exercise Progress and Wellness Preferences: Your exercise history, streaks, scores, and wellness preferences are stored locally on your device using Apple SwiftData and UserDefaults.
• Optional Location Data: If you grant location permission, FaceAI uses your approximate current location to estimate UV index and air quality for skin wellness recommendations. FaceAI does not store your coordinates, use location for tracking, or send location to advertising or analytics services. iOS and Apple Location Services may process your location to provide permission and place-name features.
• Subscription Status: We use Apple StoreKit 2 to manage subscriptions. Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple. We do not collect or store payment information.

Face Data Collection, Use, and Retention

TrueDepth Camera and ARKit Face Tracking

FaceAI uses Apple’s TrueDepth camera and ARKit face tracking only for guided facial exercises. During an exercise session, the TrueDepth camera reads facial muscle movements, including blend shape coefficients such as jaw open, eye blink, brow raise, mouth smile, and cheek puff, in real time to provide form feedback and count repetitions.

Face tracking data retention: Face tracking data from exercise sessions is not retained. It is processed on your device in real time and is discarded when the exercise session ends. No facial geometry, depth maps, blend shape data, or biometric identifiers are saved to disk, transmitted to any server, or shared with any third party.

Reasons for processing: Face tracking data is processed solely to provide real-time exercise guidance, repetition counting, and form quality feedback during facial exercise sessions.

Third-party sharing: We do not share TrueDepth or ARKit face tracking data with any third party. No TrueDepth data, depth maps, facial geometry, blend shape data, or biometric identifiers leave your device.

Face Scan Photos

When you perform a skin wellness scan, FaceAI captures photos of your face using the standard front camera, not the TrueDepth camera. These scan photos are analyzed on your device using on-device image processing and machine learning to generate a skin wellness score and related insights.
